Last updated: October 7, 2026
1. Who we are
Sparks Learning Platform ("Sparks") is operated by Family Legacy AI LLC ("we", "us", "our"). Family Legacy AI LLC is the data controller for the personal data described in this Privacy Policy. This policy covers the Sparks for Families six-month school pilot.
2. What we collect and why
- Account information — name, email address, and login credentials for school administrators and family members. Used to create and secure your account (legal basis: contract performance).
- School and pilot details — school name, seat counts, pilot dates, and invite codes. Used to set up and manage your pilot (contract performance).
- Family and child profiles — the names and age groups that parents enter for their children. Used to deliver age-appropriate Sparks (contract performance).
- Activity records — Spark completions, responses, and reflections. Used to show families their history and schools their participation progress (contract performance).
- Support messages — anything you send us when asking for help (legitimate interests).
- Security and sign-in data — IP address and basic sign-in logs recorded by our hosting and authentication providers. Used for security and fraud prevention (legitimate interests).
Payment card and billing details are collected and processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record, not by us.
3. Who we share data with
- Service providers and subprocessors that host and operate the Platform (hosting, analytics, support tooling);
- Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for the sale of the product, payments, tax compliance, and invoicing;
- Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where needed;
- Authorities where required by law.
We do not sell personal data.
4. Retention
We keep personal data for as long as your account or pilot is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, accounting, and support obligations. When data is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymised.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise any of these rights, email support@sparkslearningplatform.com. If you are in the UK or EEA, you also have the right to complain to your supervisory authority, and we will respond to requests within one month.
6. International transfers
Our service providers may process data outside your country, including outside the UK/EEA. Where this happens, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions.
7. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security in our database.
8. Cookies
The Platform uses essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to remember your session. We do not use marketing cookies. You can clear cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time; doing so will sign you out.
9. Children's data
Child profiles (first name and age group) are entered by a parent or guardian, and Sparks are designed to be completed by a child together with a parent. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time and will post the updated version here with a new "last updated" date. Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to support@sparkslearningplatform.com.
